Taking care of those who take care of us!

The first of six gastronomic tributes to healthcare professionals by Chef Chakall and the company Valente Marques, S.A. | Arroz Caçarola began this Monday.

"Taking care of those who take care of us" will visit six of the main Portuguese hospitals with the mission of creating a special moment in the daily lives of healthcare professionals who continue to fight an epic battle for us all.

On the first day (March 15), a "paella" lunch (seafood, chicken and vegetarian) was distributed by the "Food Truck Caçarola” to 914 healthcare professionals from the Hospital Professor Doutor Fernando Fonseca (Amadora Sintra).

The next date for this initiative will be March 19th at the Hospital de Santa Maria in Lisbon, and will then move on to the north of the country.

This social responsibility action is a way of celebrating the 50th anniversary of Valente Marques, S.A. | Arroz Caçarola, in a year where all efforts must be directed to the particular moment we are living in.

This action also had the solidarity support of other entities that are used to collaborating with Chef Chakall, such as: Missão Continente and Food Trucks Factory / Grupo Verso Move.

Missão Continente has supported several institutions and vulnerable people through the donation of food and hygiene products, having distributed around 2 million euros to a universe of half a million Portuguese people to date.

In April 2020, Food Trucks Factory, a company belonging to the Verso Move Group, launched the "Food trucks are safe" campaign, serving around 10,000 meals in 15 campaigns from north to south of the country to frontline workers – doctors, nurses, INEM professionals, firefighters, Civil Protection, GNR, PSP and cleaning staff.
